Relationships/Mental Health

Providing Client-Centered, Strength-Based Counseling to Individuals, Couples, and Adolescents for Substance Abuse, Anxiety, Career, and Relationships, as well as Gambling and Sexual Addictions.

Many of us deal with difficulties at various moments throughout our lifetime. Sometimes they occur in school, other times at work and other times still, at home. Frequently it may seem as if you are forced to cope alone… but that doesn’t have to be the case. Lehigh Counseling Services, LLC is here to help with life's difficult moments by providing Client-Centered, Strength-Based counseling to individuals, couples, and adolescents for addiction, anxiety, career, or relationship issues.

Relationship counseling
If your relationship feels overwhelming and unmanageable, call to make an appointment and get the help you and your significant other need in order to learn emotional regulation and effective, supportive behaviors towards one another. By learning and applying techniques that increase self-awareness, communication skills, and emotional intelligence, individuals and couples can find a way through these difficult conversations compassionately and effectively, which ultimately leads to healing and an enhanced partnership.

Career counseling
Are we defined by what we do or is our career simply something that pays the bills? Many people feel dissatisfied with their jobs and forty hours a week is a large amount of time to be unhappy. If you feel trapped in the wrong job, it may be time for you to consider a new career. Lehigh Counseling can help you identify possible career choices where your talent and passion meet through career exploration, increased self-awareness, and self-expression. It’s never too late to stop daydreaming about the job you want and instead start to pursue it

Anxiety counseling
Feelings of anxiety can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to struggle on your own. Support is offered through various techniques, including Narrative Therapy, which encourages and compassionately challenges clients to be mindful of the story they’re telling to better utilize their strengths. This theory acknowledges the power of language, in that not only does the language we use reflect how we feel, it also affects how we feel. Therefore, the words we choose to use can help to manifest the changes we hope to bring about. The idea is to encourage the use of more positive words as opposed to negative words while telling our life story, which has been remarkably effective in helping clients confront the challenges of their lives in order to bring about lasting and meaningful change.

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you may want to make an appointment for an initial consultation:

  • Are you currently having difficulty at school or work?
  • Are interactions with family members, loved ones, or friends strained?
  • Is anxiety or depression keeping you from enjoying life to its fullest or keeping you from achieving your goals?
  • Do you find it difficult to feel good without alcohol or other drugs?
  • Is gambling having a negative impact on your life?
  • Is a loved one's substance abuse causing you worry or concern?
  • Are you unfulfilled with your job and is this dissatisfaction seeping into other aspects of your life?
  • Are you unsure of what you want to do with your future?
